In fact, in the monitoring of the policy commission, the government has now fully prepared to mix 15% of the methanol in petrol. The government has also started the trilogy with this. Media reports have said that it could reduce petrol prices by 10 to 15 rupees.



Ethanol mix is ​​done in the present petrol and diesel market. For which, the government had recommended the policy commission to mix methanol instead of ethanol in petrol and diesel, which was accepted. Ethanol is made from sugarcane, which costs 40 rupees per liter, while on the other hand the costs for making methanol are 20 rupees per liter.



The Union minister said in the matter that, at present, the cost of petrol is around 80 rupees, whereas when methanol is made of coal and its cost is Rs 20 per liter. Speaking about the engine used in this methanol mixed petrol, the Swedish automobile company has created an engine that runs Volvo Methanol. Methanol will be used in this engine. Trail will be done on 25 buses using oil in Mumbai.



Apart from this, full trial is underway under the supervision of the policy commission, in which petrol cars are being run by mixing methanol with petrol. It is hoped that its trial will be completed in 2 to 3 months. After getting the satisfaction from this trial, the methanol mixture will be started in the petrol.



Mixing of methanol will also provide an advantage that it will also reduce the pollution. In the early times, will give more attention to the production of methanol in India and focus on its imports.




ગત ૪ ઓક્ટોબર ના રોજ સરકાર દ્વારા પેટ્રોલ અને ડીજલ ઉપર ૧.૫૦ રૂપિયા પ્રતિ લિટર એક્સાઇજ ડ્યૂટિ ઓછી કરવામાં આવી. જોકે જાણકારો એ આવું જણાવ્યુ છે કે આવું કરવાથી સરકારની આવક પર અસર પડશે. પરંતુ સરકારે તેનો પણ ઉતાર શોધી લીધો છે, આ વર્ષે ઘણા અલગ અલગ કારણોસર પેટ્રોલ અને ડીજલના ભાવોમાં ભાવ વધારો જોવા મળેલ છે. જો કે થોડા સમયથી સામાન્ય જનતાને આમાંથી રાહત પણ મળેલી છે. પરંતુ હવે સરકાર પેટ્રોલ અને ડીજલની કિંમતોમાં લગભગ ૧૦ થી ૧૫ રૂપિયાનો ઘટાડો કરી શકે છે. સૌથી ખાસ વાત એ છે કે તેના લીધે સરકારી તિજોરી પર અસર પણ નહીં પડે.

હકીકતમાં, નીતિ આયોગની દેખરેખમાં સરકાર હવે પેટ્રોલમાં હવે ૧૫% મેથેનોલનું મિશ્રણ કરવાની પૂરી તૈયારી કરી ચૂકી છે. આને લઈને સરકારે ટ્રાઇલ પણ જોરશોર થી ચાલુ કરી દીધેલ છે. મીડિયા રિપોર્ટમાં જણાવવામાં આવેલ છે કે તેના લીધે પેટ્રોલના ભાવમાં ૧૦ થી ૧૫ રૂપિયા ઘટી શકે છે.

હાલ બજારમાં મળતા પેટ્રોલ અને ડીજલમાં ઇથેનોલ મિક્સ કરવામાં આવે છે. જેને લઈને સરકારે નીતિ આયોગને પેટ્રોલ અને ડીજલમાં ઇથેનોલ ના બદલે મેથોનોલ મિક્સ કરવાની ભલામણ કરી હતી જેને સ્વીકારી લેવામાં આવી હતી. ઇથેનોલને શેરડી માંથી બનાવવામાં આવે છે જેની કિંમત ૪૦ રૂપિયા પ્રતિ લીટર હોય છે, જ્યારે બીજી તરફ મેથેનોલની બનાવટ માટેનો ખર્ચો ૨૦ રૂપિયા પ્રતિ લીટર આવે છે.

કેન્દ્રિય મંત્રીએ આ વિષયમાં કહ્યું હતું કે, અત્યારના સમયમાં પેટ્રોલની કિંમત લગભગ ૮૦ રૂપિયા આસપાસ છે, જ્યારે જ્યારે મેથોનોલ કોલસામાંથી બનાવવામાં આવે છે અને તેનો ખર્ચો ૨૦ રૂપિયા પ્રતિ લિટર આવે છે. આ મેથોનોલ મિશ્રિત પેટ્રોલનો ઉપયોગ કરવાવાળા એંજિન વિશે વાત કરતાં બતાવ્યુ કે, સ્વીડેનની આટોમોબાઇલ કંપની વોલ્વો મેથોનોલથી ચાલે તેવું એંજિન બનાવી લીધું છે. આ એંજિનમાં મેથોનોલનો ઉપયોગ થશે. મૂંબઈમાં આ તેલનો ઉપયોગ કરવાવાળી ૨૫ બસો પર ટ્રાઇલ કરવામાં આવશે.

આ સિવાય નીતિ આયોગની દેખરેખ હેઠળ આના પર પૂણામાં ટ્રાયલ ચાલી રહ્યું છે, જેમાં પેટ્રોલ સાથે મેથોનોલ મિક્સ કરીને ગાડીઓ ચલાવવામાં આવી રહી છે. આશા રાખવામા આવે છે કે ૨ થી ૩ માહિનામાં તેનું ટ્રાયલ પૂરું કરી લેવામાં આવશે. આ ટ્રાયલથી સંતુષ્ટિ મળ્યા બાદ પેટ્રોલમાં મેથોનોલ મિક્સ કરવાનું શરૂ કરી દેવામાં આવશે.

મેથોનોલના મિક્સ થવાથી એક ફાયદો પણ મળશે કે તેનાથી પ્રદૂષણમાં પણ ઘટાડો આવશે. શરૂઆતના સમયમાં મેથોનોલને લઈને ભારતમાં જ ઉત્પાદન કરી શકાય તેના તરફ વધારે ધ્યાન આપશે અને તેની આયાત પર ધ્યાન કેન્દ્રિત કરશે.
